I have known Nicole and Sam for nearly 8 years now as my husband worked with them at Cirque du Soleil’s La Nouba. They are great at their craft and when they decided to open Next Level Physiotherapy & Perfomance after the show’s end, I could not have been happier. They have a unique background and the fact that they know how to work with a variety of athletes and performers gives them an edge over traditional physical therapy centers. They are also experienced in post-partum health and have given talks about post-partum health with MOPS groups.

What makes your business unique/special?

Though Physical Therapy, fitness and wellness services are quite pervasive, it is the way we deliver our services and our backgrounds that make us unique. We are physical therapists from Cirque du Soleil with backgrounds in rehabilitation, fitness and wellness practices of professional athletes and performers. When we left Cirque du Soleil’s La Nouba, we knew that we wanted to take the knowledge we had and make elite level services available to the entire Orlando community. One of the most important ways we do that is be offering full hour, one-on-one sessions with each of our clients. This model is very different to how most physical therapy practices function.

In what way have you gone above and beyond in the past for a customer?

The way that we treat each one of our clients is a departure from how physical therapy is traditionally delivered. We started this business to ensure that each and every one of our clients is treated as an individual with a program that meets the needs of their life and activity demands. We offer flexible scheduling, telehealth services, online programs and are family and kid friendly to ensure that we can include anyone that needs us. We do this for every one of our clients.

What is the coolest thing you’ve ever had a client do for you?

The most amazing thing a client is ever done for us is to trust us enough to recommend us to a family member or friend!

What tool/equipment/or other vendor could you not imagine doing business without? Why?

The one thing we could absolutely not do business without is our hands. Fancy equipment is fun but we can accomplish just about anything we need to accomplish with just our hands and a small floor space.

Tell us about YOU:

Sam is a physical therapist, athletic trainer, mom of 3 and fire department wife. She enjoys running, reading and drinking her coffee hot. Nicole is a physical therapist, certified strength & conditioning specialist and Pilates instructor. She has a daughter and an amazing fiancee. In her free time she enjoys hiking, skiing and yoga.

What are you passionate about outside of your business?

We are both passionate about spending quality time with our families and maintaining healthy and active lifestyles.

What or who has been your greatest influence in business and why?

We both come from families of entrepreneurs, and while we can’t credit just one person, we have learned incredible lessons from each family member generous enough to share his or her wisdom with us.

What one thing have you learned as a small business owner that has served you well over the years?

We learned right away that success does not happen overnight and that there’s no substitute for hard work and perseverance.

What would you say is your biggest accomplishment as a female entrepreneur?

For me (Sam), I would have to say that overcoming the lie that being a successful entrepreneur means that somehow I’m not also able to be a good mother and spouse. .

What advice do you have for other women entrepreneurs?

This advice is not gender specific but certainly applies to female entrepreneurs and that is to show up day after day and keep showing up when things are hard or unpleasant.

Do you have any special deals, events, or coupons currently?

Yes! We will offer a $35 discount on 1-on-1 physical therapy, fitness or wellness services to any of your readers. Just mention Aura Lux Photography or the Women in Business blog. *Excluded only are group classes and Pilates.
